These are my new chairs. My husbands hates them. He’s being very stubborn about them. They are vintage, almost brand new and I got them both for a fantastic price. That in itself should have him loving them, since he’s like most men and loves a good deal. Nope. He’s not going for it. I even offered to get them recovered in black gingham, or a grey velvet-type fabric. Nope. (They’d be awesome in black gingham.) So here they sit, with quilts on them. The cat’s love their new cat beds. I mean, the cats love the living room chairs. I guess I’m going to resell them. I can’t believe it’s been a month since I last posted. My how time flies when you’re sitting around doing not much of anything…but we’ve had our 4 weeks of summer, so now it’s back to dreary grey and more quilting.
What's not to love? I too think they could look awesome in black gingham. Husbands - what do they know eh? Last year I had to sneak in a vintage Lloyd Loom linen bin - he still doesn't like it and it's relegated to the spare room. I'm also banned from buying any more Lloyd Loom! Have a great bank holiday. ReplyDeleteSilly husband, the chair looks beautiful. Maybe you should redo the seats in hot pink just to piss him off!
ReplyDeleteThat is exactly how my man responds to vintage furniture!!! My son, loves my vintage settee with the horsehair stuffing...and he's 6'4" at 23.
ReplyDeleteHe'll get used to them, hopefully. Usually my husband says, "Do you like it? Can we afford it?" And then all of a sudden he surprises me and says, "No, I HATE that..." Blrgggg.
ReplyDeleteI would totally redo them and stick my tongue out at him. But my hubby is used to it, because I usually am always right!
ReplyDeleteNice to have had the break, right? Chairs or no chairs.
ReplyDeletewith quilts on them, they'll surely look awesome and he can't not love them...LOL!!!
ReplyDeleteI know how it is, and then one day, when you think that he accepted the chairs, he will throw the fact that you bought them in your teeth...and that he didn't like them from the beginning...but you didn't take into consideration his opinion...
ReplyDeleteOMG they are all the same.
I think cover them the way you want. He might just be one of those people htat can't picture how perfect they'll be until they're already perfect.
ReplyDeleteAs a wife of 43 years, pick your battles. The quilts are pretty to look at. Give him time.
